Verso — Privacy Policy

The short version
Verso collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts. We never see your data.
Your library
Stories you import — pasted text, files, and imported works — are stored only on your device, along with your reading positions and settings. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
Network access
Verso connects to the internet in two cases: when you import a work by link, the app fetches that page directly from the source site's servers — the Archive of Our Own or Quotev — the same way a web browser would; and if you use Verso Premium's update checking, the app periodically re-checks those same stories (at most once every six hours) for new chapters. These requests go to the source site, not to us, and are subject to that site's own terms of service. Verso makes no other network requests.
Narration
Text-to-speech runs entirely on your device using Apple's speech engine. The text of your stories never leaves your phone.
Independence
Verso is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Organization for Transformative Works or the Archive of Our Own.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
